Post #89: Swimming in Triangle Pose

Post #89: Swimming in Triangle Pose

This “swimming triangle” vinyasa flow is one of my favorites. It really helps to strengthen the core and subsequently increases your ability to balance through this flow.

While moving through this series I want you to really focus on your core strength. The more you can hone in on using your core the better you will find your balance as you move from triangle to reverse triangle and back again. Anyone with knee, hip or shoulder issues needs to modify as necessary or wait this one out.

As you move through the swimming triangle flow, imagine that each and every detail of the movement is coming from your core. Allow the core to start, fuel, and finish the flow. When we move from our core we bring more power, balance and flexibility to our poses. We also wring out the emotional center of the body and release all kinds of stored stress that we may not even realize was there.

Yoga is not just about body awareness. It’s about releasing stored emotional stress that keeps us from experiencing the peace and joy that is our inherent nature. When we utilize these deep core power flows we quickly burn through this mental and emotional stress and find ourselves reveling in an ocean of peace. Ah yoga!

Remember, you are a force for good in the world. The more consistent you get with these practices the more your life will become guided, sacred, and filled with meaning. You cannot help but then extend deep peace, joy, and contentment to your loved ones, friends, and everyone you meet. The world could use more of this, so let’s get you in the best space to make it happen.
