Post #82: Building Back Knee & Core Strength 17-min Practice

Have you noticed that you cannot do everything you used to do physically?  Have you noticed yourself feeling a little less balanced than you used to be?

I still remember walking on my rocky driveway in heels one day and all of a sudden I could tell that my ankles were not as strong as they used to be and I felt like I might roll one. All of a sudden I felt less balanced and unsure of myself as I walked the same path I had been walking for the past 9 years at my house. It felt like it happened overnight, but I realized that it had happened over that last year as I had focused less on my yoga practice and more on studying for nursing school.

If you feel like you have noticed this lately then try this 17-minute practice to increase knee and core strength. See if you can become more aware of how you are moving around in life. The busier and more stressed we get, the less we pay attention to these little changes taking place. When we notice, we can become more aware to take extra care in certain postures or activities and do what we can to strengthen our bodies so that we prevent injury.

What I have noticed over the last 13 years of owing a yoga studio, is that although I love my powerful yoga practice, it’s the gentler, simpler practices that can really pack a powerful punch when it comes to deep core strength.

Remember, there is much more going on than our physical bodies. If you “feel” uneasy or uncomfortable in your body, shift into another way of “feeling”. Imagine that you are light and liquid. Imagine that you are a teenager, light and flexible, and then allow your body to move that way again.

Share this 17 minute practice with anyone needing to build back knee and core strength and wanting to “feel” differently in their bodies. Click on the image below to start this awesome practice.

Remember, you are a force for good in the world. The more consistent you get with these practices the more your life will become guided, sacred, and filled with meaning. You cannot help but then extend deep peace, joy, and contentment to your loved ones, friends, and everyone you meet. The world could use more of this, so let’s get you in the best space to make it happen.
