Post #67: Yoga as an Alternative to Exercise

Post #67: Yoga as an Alternative to Exercise

Yoga is not meant to be seen as “exercise”. It is an ancient practice that is meant to release old stress and allow us to access our higher guidance, creativity and connection with God. How can we not be excited to practice yoga every single day?!!

This is my goal for Spiritual Yogi. I want to get people excited about this ancient practice of yoga. When you fully understand the depth of this practice and what all it’s doing you won’t be able to wait to step onto your mat and let the practice begin.

When we practice yoga, the various body postures allow us to wring stress out of different areas of the body that we are holding onto. When we release this stress, we allow the energy of the body to be freed up for other things, like restoration and rejuvenation.

When we practice yoga we take a step back from being buried in our thoughts. We become aware of our unlimited consciousness. It is here that we access our inner guidance (the true self), are flooded with creativity and inspiration, and find ourselves reveling in a deep state of peace and joy.

I’m including a video this week that will explain why yoga is an alternative to exercise and why you should be excited about the next time you step onto your mat. Click on the video below and in 3 minutes you will have a renewed desire to roll out that mat and get started. The second video is one of my favorite yoga practices I call, “Twist & Let Go”. So take some time for yourself – your TRUE self – and enjoy.

You are a force for good in the world. The more consistent you get with these practices the more your life will become guided, sacred, and filled with meaning. You cannot help but then extend deep peace, joy, and contentment to your loved ones, friends, and everyone you meet. The world could use more of this, so let’s get you in the best space to make it happen.
