Post 11: Let judgment go and free your family of their shackles this Thanksgiving…yes, shackles!
We all might as well sit around the dinner table this Thanksgiving with shackles on our hands and feet. These shackles are representative of the particular roles we play in our immediate families that we bound ourselves and each other to.
I want to share a quote from A Course In Miracles:
“When you have learned to look on everyone with no reference at all to the past, either his or yours as you perceive it, you will be able to learn from what you see now. For the past can cast no shadow to darken the present unless you are afraid of light. And only if you are would you choose to bring darkness with you and by holding it in your mind see it as a dark cloud that shrouds your brothers and conceals their reality from your sight.”
Don’t be afraid of the light!
This Thanksgiving let judgment go and give your siblings, give your parents the opportunity to be free of their past, to be free of these past roles that we tend to hold each other to.
Walk around the table this Thanksgiving miming unlocking the shackles around hands and feet…okay, just kidding!
As we begin to see ourselves and family members clearly in this moment, we free them and free ourselves of all the bonds those roles held us in.
Bottom line is: DON’T JUDGE! When you find yourself or your family members acting out their habitual roles, simply withhold judgment, and send as much peace and love from your heart to theirs, burning away all the ego negativity that wants to arise.
Other bottom line: BE GRATEFUL! Be grateful for this amazing experience we call life and the loved ones we share it with however cooky they might be!

What a great thought to start Thanksgiving day. It is so easy to get caught up into old behaviors. How great it would be if everyone saw each other without old judgments. Thanks Ginger for the great advice. Curt
