Post #122: An Emotional Punch In The Gut

Post #122: An Emotional Punch In The Gut

An emotional punch in the gut…we’ve all had one.

It knocks the breath out of you.

Makes you feel separate and alone.

Makes you wonder if you’re just too sensitive for this world.

Makes you want to hide under a rock and never come out.

The hardest thing to do is to stop your judgment of the person who dealt this punch.

We wonder how they could be so insensitive, so harsh.

What if the answer is in the non-judgment?

What if the way to heal is to love that person even more?

What if the way to forgive is to drop the walls that were erected when pain struck again, and totally accept this person, irrational reactions and all (haven’t we all been there at one point or another)?

It’s not easy, yet once you feel the relief that comes, the burden that lifts, it’s the most rewarding thing in the world.

The next time someone doles out that emotional punch in the gut, give them a silent nod of thanks.

Give yourself time to settle back into peace (yoga, guided meditation, breath-work) so that you can extend love and forgiveness…and experience the closest thing to God you can imagine.

All my best,

Remember, you are a force for good in the world. The more consistent you get with these practices the more your life will become guided, sacred, and filled with meaning. You cannot help but then extend deep peace, joy, and contentment to your loved ones, friends, and everyone you meet. The world could use more of this, so let’s get you in the best space to make it happen.
